This place is like taking a step back in time! Antiques from the past are priceless. Spent probably an hour just looking around.

I have lived in the area my entire life and have never gotten a chance to check out this gem. Until today. We were working in the area and a surprise pit stop here on the way home was made. What an incredible store!! I had such a great time going through their treasurers and found myself fully immersed in the little sets throughout. If you havent had the extreme pleasure of being transported back to the good ole days...do yourself a favor and go already!!

Great little place for antiques of all kinds. Its almost like a trip to the past nice and clean inside and out. Very friendly environment.

This place is beyond awesome. I found it on the website onlyinyourstate.com. They have all kinds of retro items. The amount of stuff here will blow your mind. An unfortunate thing happened and my Mom accidentally broke a small it. She tried paying the $10 price they had on it, but the staff told her to not worry about. Thanks Bomb Shelter, appreciate it, and enjoyed the visit.

Amazing place to by antiques in Akron. The price on furniture is extremely fair. Even if youve no intentions of buying anything its a great way to spend a half hour or so...its like a self guided museum and if you really like something you can buy it!

This is a fun and quite large antique store. Great for browsing and spending an afternoon. It was 3 or 4 vintage cars inside and a ‘TV museum’ with a collection of vintage television sets that is very cool. My problem with a lot of antique stores is that they’re filled with junk that should have been tossed, sort of like a glorified town dump. The Bomb Shelter is NOT that. This place is curated and filled with interesting pieces.

Loved everything to look at here! Its setup so well with themed areas that are so nicely displayed. I really had no idea what to expect before going in there and I was seriously impressed by all their antiques. And their prices werent bad at all.

Hands down the best display of antiques I have ever seen. Prices are more than reasonable, and the care and attention to detail put into each area is outstanding. I cannot believe how awesome this place is. Worth the trip, and it is huge! Each area is organized by type and so easy to browse. I have been in hundreds of antique stores and this is by far the best. Truly earned a full five stars.

They’ve expanded their indoor space since I was there last. So much to look at! Clean, and well organized in a way that you don’t have to dig to see things. New things all the time!

WOW!!! I believe they have everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink!Very well organized. So many antiques.Definitely worth the stop just to browse.All the items are in very good shape.There were airplane seats, a dentist chair, an old Scotty camper.... green monster!If you are in the mood for something vintage, you will find it here!

Love this antique/vintage/retro shop. Its great to browse around - so much to see and it changes all the time. And you never know what treasures you might find.

Love coming here. Has so many different items from all different eras. Lots of little items and lots if big items. Anything from furniture to giant letters to street and automotive signs. Theres even a tv museum with items from the 50s and beyond. I cant even begin to list the different things. You just have to go and see for yourself! See my photos for a tease.

Fantastic place! Not just another junk store and once you walk in youll know what I mean. Everything is clean and uniquely organized. ( I.e. dining room tables are set with antique plates silverware and armoires. ) Mounted deer heads? They are next to camping gear picnic tables and fake Xmas trees.This place is just fun to walk through, like a time machine.

I always make a trip here when Im home visiting my folks. Incredibly curated and staged like a movie set. More fun and impressive than any other vintage/antique store ever.

Great vintage shop! I typically spend a few hours just walking around this huge store either flipping through their sizable record collection, checking out the television museum (its awesome), or just trying to not buy most everything I see. Totally worth a visit.

Really an incredible antique store. Im so glad I came here. Everyone is so pleasant and I love the collection of everything. If you have not checked out this place, its a must.

I edited my post because my post was almost a year ago....it was super hot inside that store 9 months ago and my mouth was covered by a mask and I was dizzy and because I have sinus issues to begin with....at least fix the air conditioning this summer if you plan to make people wear masks. It was 90° inside last year before we all had to start wearing masks. Hopefully this is over soon and I agree. It was just hot inside your store and while wearing the mask it was suffocating a year ago thats all. I wasnt trying to suggest that masks shouldnt be worn.

Amazing collection of artifacts from 20th century America. Skews to mid-century modern, but broader than that suggests. And, yes, there are bomb shelter necessities.

Absolutely one of the greatest thrift stores you will see. Reasonably priced, so much to look at. So much to buy. GO THERE!!!

I always love this place. I tend to think the prices are a bit on the high side because its playing often to the trendy-retro crowd, but the inventory selection is really great! They also have a good vinyl section with lots of 1$ records that have augmented my collection. There is an urban/industrial area that lots of cool stuff for decoration or building accent/furniture pieces. Its a great place.

There area lot of cool stuffs in their store. I loved the place because the things are neatly organized with a certain motif every area. It is a nice place to visit and buy things from. The prices reasonable as well.

First time weve stopped here. Really loved the place. Lots of industrial salvage, military stuff, kitchen stuff, something for everyone. And the prices were very reasonable.

What a Great store! I have been coming here for a few years now and each time I’m so impressed. Fair pricing, great inventory, and very knowledgeable and kind salespeople. I drive an hour to get here and believe me it is worth the trip. Find those hard to find goodies here. Trust me, you’ll be happy you did.

I come here regularly and always find something great. Bought some beautiful bowls and a kickin Coleman cooler. If you havent been, check it out. There was the most beautiful table set, if it had fit in my kitchen I would have bought it.

I cant accurately emphasize how amazing this place is . its basically a museum of mid century wonders and most of the exhibits are for sale . the prices on most items are reasonably inexpensive considering the age rarity and high quality .Its definitely worth a long drive .

Half store, half museum and and a bit of an ode to an entirely different time. Loved the time we spent here. Could have spent hours, but we were kind of in a time crunch. Make sure to give yourself ample time (an hour or two) to observe everything properly.

An absolutely historic place. There is so much there it would take days to go through. The prices seem to go between low and high. Some are more reasonable than others but its decent overall. I really enjoyed everything and I look forward to decorating with the supplys they have.

They have the greatest, oddest, most random things here! Prices are a bit steep on somethings but its always worth going in to see the new inventory.

Such a cool place to buy vintage stuff. Its interesting to go look at all the old furniture and dishes they have old cars and vinyls dressers and old signs and you name it they have it! A little crowded sometimes but well worth the struggle!

Love this place for finding the unusual or fun piece. Got two barstools that day. Best of all, though, was finding the Akron Sound Museum has been moved into The Bomb Shelters space. Fun ride down early, local punk memory lane.

A huge selection of cool old stuff. Records, books, magazines, furniture, clothes, and miscellaneous knick-knacks. New stock goes in and out regularly, so its a great place to visit once and a while if theres something specific youre waiting to pop up.

I bought a stereo from my childhood. It wasnt supposed to work. Almost like new. Yippee! Marked down, extremely good price. Im rocking out again now.

This was a delightful stop on our visit in Akron. It was like a museum! So much neat retro stuff and displayed nicely. It was really fun to look. Furniture was out of my price range, but I really enjoyed poking around the place. We did leave with a couple records though. Id really like to go back next time Im in town. 😊

One of the coolest antique stores around. They have a very wide variety of stuff from different periods from nostalgia to true antiques. Check their hours before making the trip.off the beaten path for sure.

There’s a huge assortment of unique items here. Every time I visit I learn something new by discovering an item I previously never knew even existed. For such a unique antique store, the prices seem pretty good to me. If you like exploring antique stores, this one is worth checking out.
