I’ve visited this shop many times during my ventures to Aiken. Each time, I’ve been left with a bad taste. My most recent visit was on March 11, 2019. It was especially awful. Which is why I’ve chosen to post.I am an art afficianado. But I do my research. The owner of the store was pressuring me to buy originals from an artist. Her asking price was 3 times the asking price of the artist. She said he’s in his last days. I appreciate this, as I understand value would increase upon death. However, the artist was willing to sell his art well below her markup. No humility here.I left the store having purchased $700 in jackets. It’s my last time visiting this shop. The owner is ruthless and a money grabber. She puts a black cloud over other retail shops, and home grown businesses that try to make it work.Shame on her. Thankfully, I was able to purchase directly from the artist.
