Tone Shop is the best guitar shop this side of the Mississippi! Not a big chain, but big sounds and selection. The staff isnt a bunch of teens who will sell you anything for the sake of commission (no hate, theyve gotta make money, too), but the fine folks at Tone Shop take time to get to know you, your preferences, your style and sound goals as well as price range. Theres something for everyone on any budget, and youll find a lot of unexpected gems here. Weve been coming since theyve opened and its just taken off so beautifully. Went to a Reverend / Greg Koch seminar in Addison and was impressed with the store. Had a nice Fender Hot Rod Deluxe but it was just too loud and had my eye on a PRS parlor guitar. Went in, was treated super nice, told them what I wanted to do. End result....I now have the parlor guitar and was very happy about the way we negotiated the deal. Would recommend them in a heartbeat!!

This is one of the best guitar shops I have ever been in. They have the best variety in brands that Ive seen in many years at a shop and they are constantly expanding that aspect. The best part about this shop is that they have the full spectrum of equipment. They have less expensive beginner gear all the way up to high end guitars and gear. Cant reccomned highly enough.

Im a beginner guitar player and wanted to get my guitar professionally setup. I met with Neel and let him know what I was looking to do. He asked me a few questions, and provided valuable insight when I asked about modifications and adjustments. Neel was incredibly informative, and clearly very knowledgeable. I took a chance and purchased a fender 75th Anniversary Edition Stratocaster from this wonderful store. I was shopping online the night before when I saw they had them in stock. I called the next day and this very polite; professional guitar salesman by the name of Taylor answered my questions. I ordered the guitar sight unseen by pure faith. Taylor assured me it was very nice and he would see to getting it into shipment. Amazing job setting up my Gibson SG! My guitar looks and plays like brand new and the job performed was FLAWLESS. They buffed out pick scratches, oiled the fretboard, and cleaned pieces art parts to perfection!

Fantastic guitar shop. I came in a couple weeks ago looking to buy a new acoustic, and maybe trade in the one i had. The guys there were extremely helpful and cool. They showed me around the store, and were very knowledgeable. I ended up getting a Taylor acoustic, and they gave me a great deal and traded guitars with me. They also gave me a free shirt! In addition to the great staff, the selection of guitars is vast and unique, different and more interesting than guitar center for sure. I will definitely go to them for my music needs from now on.

Ive been coming here for several years due to the quality of gear that they have in store, knowledgable staff, and excellent repair shop. Ive brought several guitars here to get work done and they have knocked it out of the park every time. Most recently I brought ta 1963 Gibson Hummingbird to receive extensive work including a refret and it plays better than I have ever remember. Neal and Edward in the repair side of things are the REAL DEAL.By far one of the best guitar shops Ive ever been to and probably the only repair shop I trust in the DFW area (Ive been to a few).

This has become my favorite guitar shop in Dallas or Addison. Staff are always helpful and the variety of guitars they have are unmatched. AND! only the really expensive guitars are out of reach - so you can just grab and play most anything they have without having to ask the staff.

But I think their shining quality is their custom work and guitar repair. Ed very willingly helped me through my first guitar build! Without his help it would have been very difficult. I wondered into this shop the other day. Ive driven past it a thousand times and never felt like walking in, but let me tell ya, I regret not walking in sooner. This shop has variety, and experts in music; not just sales personnel. They had some really great deals on used gear and Chad helped me with every question I had. I cant thank him enough. This Guitar shop is fantastic! They have a PLEK machine. I took a guitar to get it done, Wow... It came out awesome! This is my first experience playing a guitar after being PLEKd. Its the difference of fighting the guitar vs just playing it. All notes ring out, action perfect and I cant put it down now. ALSO, They carry a great selection of guitars. The Good Stuff the other stores dont. Staff is great. Im now thinking of which guitar to take them next! AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!

Went in to look around at what was in stock, get a gauge of the prices and the expierence was wonderful. Its very much got a vibe of a dedicated guitar shop that knows what it offers and offers it at a reasonable price.Im very shy when it comes to looking at stuff in person and when I looked up the website, I was amazed to know that the used guitars I saw in the store were actually listed online. Were talking about full pictures, close ups to see any wear and tear it may have on them. That is tons of dedication and also helps when researching what I was looking to purchase. I know its for online purchases but it also helps in a way of doing homework before driving out to the store so that all I did was play it and know it was the one for me. This place really puts in a lot of effort and has now become my go to for shopping and gear! The guitar I bought was in beautiful condition, very clean and the case was wonderful as well. I bought a used Yahama Revstar RS720B here(my 1st electric) and a Katana 50. I’d been going into Guitar Center for nearly 6 months and leaving empty handed every time. Either anxiety about the purchase, staff not being very receptive to my questions or just not seeing a guitar that really “fit” what I was looking for.I walked into this place and could feel the difference. I don’t remember the name of the sales rep that helped me. He was great! No upsell, no games, and a lot of positive energy about where I was with learning guitar. It felt awesome to have someone putting my mind at ease about making this next step. I was in/out and a few months later I’m still very pleased with the purchase.I don’t think I’ll ever walk into a Guitar Center again; I’ll make the drive from Arlington.

First time in a guitar shop in years. Impressive selection of guitars and basses. The guys were friendly and not pushy. Had a few questions and they gave great detailed answers. I plan on coming back to have my bass worked on and from talking with them probably ordering a new one. Great location and I like that its small enough to remember me on my next visit but large enough to have anything I could need. Much better than the big box stores when it comes to atmosphere.

Bought a Martin 28 HD and didn’t get the tone I expected on Friday Feb 12. I went back on Monday the 15th. This was within the 72 hr return time period. They were closed due to extreme weather. I understood the situation and came back the first day that they reopened (Thursday Feb 18th) obviously by this time my 72 hrs was up so I asked for my sales rep. He didn’t come in to work. I returned again on Monday Feb 22. He told me no return or exchange because of the 72 hr period. This was from the manager/ owner. In other words “we have your money now leave”. This was my experience with this store. I’ll never go back.

The staff was super friendly and very helpful. I brought my 4 kids with me and they were welcomed and encouraged to try the instruments and find their passion! My 2 year old walked away with a pair of drumsticks! My 14 year old daughter put a guitar on her birthday list!

I usually dont leave or write reviews, but this place is special! I went to sam ash to get my bass setup, their guitar tech wasnt available so they recommended I take it to tone shop. GOOD CALL! When I had arrived, I was experiencing some car trouble, so they took in my bass, and told me to make myself at home. Everyone working there is super nice and helpful, no egos. Their selection and layout is great in every department. And Bass was ready to pickup less than 2 hours later! Plays and sounds great!! This experience was worth the car trouble and I will be shopping here again! Go the extra mile and support tone shop guitars!!

I had an issue with an instrument I purchased off Reverb, and while I wasnt able to contact them through their Reverb profile, they did have links to follow to their actual shop.I contacted them directly and they resolved all my issues. Spoke to one of the co-owners, Tommy Roberts, he was extremely nice and understanding even when I was not. I think this says more about them than if I didnt have any issues at all, and makes me confident that I can buy from them again. When a problem arose they understood immediately, were appalled that this sort of thing could happen in their shop, and fixed it the same morning. Thats the kind of thing you want in your local music store. You want someone to treat you like a friend, and to treat your instruments like they treat their own.Great shop. I love the place, customer service is something important for me and without a doubt here they will help you find the guitar, pedal or whatever you are looking for.

Very nice store with lots of the guitars, basses and pedals to see. Very good selection of Fender, Reverend, Gibson, PRS, Taylor and Martin just to name a few. They have used gear as well. They have pretty much every pedal imaginable from EHX to Strymon. Every staff member I came across was extremely kind and friendly. Overall the place has a relaxing, but professional feel. You can easily sit down and noodle for a couple hours if you really wanted. Highly recommend it if you havent been before.

This is a dope place for music lovers. I first visited this store and i was amazed to see how much of range of guitars they have in stock. Some of the coolest brands to rares. I recently purchased a used 2006 Gibson SG Red for a decent price and i love it. Very good people in there, to help you out in anyway. They also have the range of pedals. The store also has a noise cancellation room kind of where one can play any guitar on store free flowing. This is definitely a must visit store if someone is really looking for buying guitars or accessories. Mainly they value customer satisfaction to the best possible way.

Coolest gear, staff and store layout in D/FW!

Had never heard of this place until today. I called and they were super nice on the phone and had what I was after. I picked up an amp $100 bucks cheaper on an amp that is normally 450 bucks everywhere else on the internet. Met the owner while I was there and he was super friendly. He seemed genuinely interested in having my business and serving the customer. Shook my hand, thanked me for my business, and even opened the door for me as I was walking out. The front was deceiving - I didnt realize how deep it was. This place was pretty large inside. Had a fantastic selection. They had a sweet collection of used amps, and what must be several hundred pedals, several hundred guitars, pretty much any amp you want, and a wall of techs doing service. There is an acoustic room that is packed as well. I cant say enough good - Wow. What nice people and what a great place. Dont go to one of the big music chains - go here - the selection is better and the people are even better than the inventory. Make the drive. Ill go back to these guys from here on out - and I live in McKinney. Id give them 10 stars if I could.
