Volcano has been here for years. Its never too busy and has an extensive sushi menu that has always been excellent! The hibachi service is excellent and loud. You are guaranteed to smile! Over time we have noticed hibachi meals to go or just dine at a regular table is inconsistent. The front bar that used to be beautiful has now turned into a to go station but thats because times have changed unfortunately.
Delicious! My wife and I enjoyed a great sushi lunch. The server made sure we got the best lunch deal and the quality of the food for the price is tough to beat. We had the Philly Roll, a spicy tuna roll and a crazy rainbow roll which we are fresh and wonderful. The ginger salad was also very tasty. Highly recommend and we will be back!
Called a few hours ahead, got a reservation for 6pm. We arrived at 5:55pm, was sat quickly (by 6:02). Our server, Dani (at least thats what was on the bill, he never introduced himself)came by after 5 minutes and got our drink orders. When he returned we placed our orders. Fast forward 25 minutes, no update on our food but, Dani stopped by to refill our drinks. Another 25 minutes and no sight of Dani. Ive been to this location two or three times a month for over 3 years. I have had the displeasure of being sat with Dani 3 times now and every experience has been worse than the last. Our food sat up at the bar from 6:32 until another member of the wait staff brought it over at 6:55. When we are in a different section, no issues at all. I work in the service industry myself and spent 9 years in the culinary industry. This kind of blatant disregard for customer service is pathetic. I cant decide if its because he is incompetent or just plain lazy. I doubt this will make a difference but, it needs to be said. Otherwise, the sushi variety is good and tastes good too. Just wish the service was satisfactory.
Very loud, but food is always great quality. Rarely get a bad piece of sushi.
Family favorite. Loud and proud. Not a quiet environment. The hibachi chef are there for fantastic cooking and entertainment. They sing and crack jokes. Well worth the time and money. You need to make reservations, especially for large-ish parties (we have 6 in our family). Great food, great time.
Service was great and food was good too. We consider the hibachi to be a bit pricey, but food was delicious. I would definitely go again regardless of the price. Next time well try the sushi.
Great experience as always. The hibachi chefs were great. Very dynamic and entertaining. The steak, chicken, shrimp, and scallops were all great. Good choice of sushi also. My party had to wait a bit but I just wandered nearby stores until we got a call back. This is a family favorite for a fun evening out.
Food fresh cook was awesome. Food delicious. We were visiting Atlanta.
First time having lunch, arrived 12:00 was never advised I had to wait until table is full. Finally at 12:30 a family arrived and they sat them with me. No communication. Not one word. That was my First & LAST time there. If you don’t have a full table. This is not the place to eatBecause the Asst. Mgr. Sat me. It was her responsibility to advise me of the policy.
I have called 5 weeks in a row to make a To-Go order. Every time they say. Can you call back later? We are busy. ........ what? Im hungry now. What a dumb thing to tell a customer. I was then told call back 30 minutes later and they can take my order. So I did. To no surprise they then tell me they cannot take my order. If a restaurant cannot handle to go orders during a pandemic then I have grave concern for their business model. Their sister store in Woodstock is ran FAR better and we go out of our way to now avoid the Acworth location. If youre looking for a business who actually has a business model, and wants to take your money go to the Woodstock location off Eagle Drive in Towne Lake.Highly disappointed to be told to call later.Oh I forgot. We called at 850pm the first time they told us to call back in an hour.... when they close at 10. Take that brain buster as you will.
First time here and was taken to this place by a friend. No need to sit at the hibachi table. You can sit in the regular dining area and get the same great food. Was impressed with the size of the portions to the cost of the meal. Service was awesome, never had to wait to ask for something.
We love love love going out for sushi. We wanted to try someplace new which can be scary when eating sushi. But this place was right on point. I got the Super Volcano Roll which was amazing. My husband got the Scorpian roll and real California roll and ate it all. They will not dissappoint. We also tried the volcano fried rice which was full of chicken, steak and shrimp. The appetizer was crab rangoon which you can get anywhere but it was so fresh, hot and tasty. This place is a must try. I will be back.
One of our favorite restaurants! Always great food, fast service, engaging chefs. Great sushi AND hibachi options. Love this place, and you probably will too!
We were out celebrating a family members birthday and we decided to visit Volcano Restaurant, in Acworth, Georgia. The food is tasty but..... the wait after you place your order.I should of packed a snack. Literally almost a hour had passed before we had anything on our table including water. They really need to concentrate on the customers that are sitting in their restaurant vs people ordering take out.Next time I might go in and get a table then call on my phone to order. Go up to the counter and grab my food and tell them that we are sitting over at the 3rd table on the left. Send my bill there and Id probably get my order faster. 🤔 That is a thought 😅I recommend if your hungry and craving sushi. You might want to try another restaurant because if not. Grab a snack or even a book because youll be waiting on your food a really long time.
Amazing food and fun to watch the chef. Even let my son help make an onion volcano!
Our cook was very entertaining. We had a party of 12 and they had a big table in the back that fit us perfectly. Food was good, not the best but very good.
Fun atmosphere! friendly staff, food is delicious. kids enjoy the entertainment
The food was excellent couldnt ask for anything better and the waiter and waitress were very excellent I would recommend this place to anyone.
We ordered our meal to-go. Our food was delicious with good portions. The price was more than their website advertised though and we were disappointed to not get soup or teriyaki sauce included with our hibachi meals.
Looks like we had a very similar experience recently with Volcano, as someone posted an account similar to ours within the last week. Ordered sushi and chicken hibachi (for our kids) on Monday night. Typical busy Monday (two-for-one rolls). Got home, put the food on the table and helped get our kids out of bath time and to the dinner table. Upon taking everything out we immediately noticed the fried rice was missing. Called, they said “you can come back”, I said no thanks, I’ll figure out Plan B (20+ minute round trip in evening traffic) but would appreciate a call from a manager when they die down. No good options and our 4-year-old is crying for fried rice, so I grab my keys and off I go. Call them back from the car and get grilled by an overzealous investigator who obviously doesn’t believe me that the fried rice was missing. She claims “they have 2 people verify every order” and doesn’t believe me that they made the mistake. Exasperated, I just exclaim “please just have my fried rice ready when I get there” and hung up. Got there, got my fried rice after a minute or so, asked again to have someone give me a call when they slowed down, as paying $60+ for the service was not as expected (hungry kids, no-longer-fresh sushi). Young woman exclaimed “I’m actually the manager and I’d prefer to discuss it now”. Awesome! We went out the door a bit and I explained that I wasn’t pleased with the service, floored by the twenty question approach and disappointed that they didn’t seem to care at all. No, “Hey, can we take care of the bill tonight?” or “can we have you in soon and treat you to a couple of rolls on us”? Nope. Just a blank stare. Left, swore the place off for good and called my credit card company. News flash, Volcano: you’re not the only game in town. Heck, your rolls all taste the same anyway.
I got to give one star after what happened today... enough is enough: rude and terrible service, low quality food, and bad food experience. Tonight, they gave us a wrong to go order, so I called them back to let them know. They asked us to bring the order like to verify I was not lying. When my husband got there, they actually checked out the food like doubting.. really??. On top of that, there was no “sorry for the mistake”, no apologies at all. Good bye, Volcano... until forever.
Recently moved to the area and was excited to try their half off sushi on Mondays, however we have now tried two weeks in a row to order takeout and were told both times that they were too busy and were not accepting takeout orders. We are very disappointed and we will not be trying a third time to order takeout from here.
Good Takeout If NearbyVolcano is a local chain featuring hibachi-style Japanese food. We haven’t tried this experience, so my comments here solely apply to the takeout experience. We live nearby this location and occasionally order Japanese-style rolls for takeout. We’ve found the ordering process easy, and the choices are good. We’ve had a few experiences where food wasn’t ready at the time promised. Prices are reasonable, and food quantity is good.On our last order, we selected the Mango Crunch Roll and the Crazy Rainbow Roll. Both were large in size and featured fresh ingredients. We don’t always like their habit of cramming different rolls into a single container, as there can be some flavor transfer across different rolls. If you’re a local or in the area and crave a roll, Volcano is a good option. It’s the best choice within ~7 miles.
Really nice indeed. Just be patient.
Great place....good veggie sushi also if you like that.
Really good sushi. Salmon nigiri is usually my favorite, but the tuna stole my heart this time.My waiter was very helpful and recommended the garlic edamame! I too recommend you try it. Lots of drink and food specials. The place was really busy when I went (around 7 on a Saturday night). The hibachi grill looked fun too, I will have to come back to try that.I think the only downside I had was how hot it was! Im assuming its from the grills and the place is a bit small. Its also a bit pricey for a college student. Other than that, this place is great. I love the atmosphere and variety of sushi and entrees.
This place was fantastic, my wife and I visited on Valentines day. We had great service, very fast and friendly. The ladies at the front were very friendly. Our waiter was attentive and nice. Loved every min. Thank you for the great service and great food.
Wanted a simple sushi fix and Volcano is the closest place open on Sunday so I thought I would give them a try. Nope. Never again. I dont mine paying for quality food but their prices are seriously inflated for what you get. The sushi nigiri is literally paper thin and overpriced. The specialty roll had a very small token amount of the primary ingredient... the remainder amount was just filler cucumber vegetable strips, which imo is a cheap kitchen trick to use less premium ingredients. Hard pass.
Good food and a fun experience. The quality
Good steak and sushi and they could possibly cook in front of you if you get that different selection
Great food, fun time, some great sake on menu
Love it here! I highly recommend you call to make your reservation because it gets busy. My wife and I always get sushi and the volcanoe combo fried rice!
Excellent food and GREAT SERVICE! Clean environment
Great food and great service 🙂 We will be back
The food was good but I felt like the sushi was pretty small in comparison to other places. The rolls are the size of a quarter and the nigiri was about half the size of most all other places I have sushi. I eat sushi out a lot too! Add you can compare to the tiny amount if wasabi. There are 7 pieces of California rolls in the pic. Their presentation is nice though.
Another fine dinner with my family. Always enjoy Volcano. Sushi and sashimi were good and the bar did a good job on my martini.
Came here to eat dinner on the Habachi side and told me it was a 30 minute wait seat us on the restaurant side and seat there for a good 40 to 1 hour and the guy that we talk to said it was a miscommunication and they said we had to wait another 30 minutes before we would be seated
They are only about 2 miles away from here Thought the food will be here quickly and it would be fresh but to our dismay the food was horrible it was more left over reheated food the shrimp was cold and it was hard and the vegetables look like they had been sitting around for a few days they attempted to warm this up but I guess on the drive over which must’ve taken a while the food was cold will not order from them again!! Paid like $75 for this meal!!!!
Decent for how big our part was.
James did a great job on the hibachi. Plentiful amount of food.
First time to Volcano, both the Hibachi and Sushi were great.
This place is sooooooooo overpriced. They charge you for yum yum sauce. Their portions are smaller than a infant meal. And the soup doesn’t even come with the 25 dollar dinner. Never eating here again!
Rice was under cooked. Crunchy
Disgusting 🤮I ordered king scorpion roll and the shrimp I believe is spoiled. I called for a refund. Aubdrey or Audra refused to assist with the matter because I didn’t want to bring her bad food back. Take caution choosing to provide this place with any of your business. Spread the word
Disgusting 🤮I ordered king scorpion roll and the shrimp I believe is spoiled. I called for a refund. Audrey or Audra refused to assist with the matter, because I didn’t want to bring her bad food back driving 20 minutes out of my way! Take caution choosing to provide this place with Any of your business.
What a fun time and great food
It was good and we enjoyed our meal but portions are small for the amount ($) you are charged. I think its priced higher because of the location sadly. I had sushi and they were lunch size (smaller) portions than for a dinner size portion at other Japanese steak/sushi restaurants. I would go again if asked but Wasabi in Douglasville is better imo.
A little slow sometimes but good food.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere for my fathers birthday party. Our chef was crazy funny.
Around the corner and good. I eat here frequently. The sushi is good as well.
Wonderful staff, fun atmosphere. Slight warning for people with anxiety issues, the birthday song is extraordinarily loud.
Clean restaurant with great food and comedic and fun chefs
Boycotted for LIFE! Left a one star review a few months ago, decided to give them another try, BIG mistake. I called in a pick up order, told her on the phone I wanted the sushi with rice, told her I wanted a spicy salmon roll. My wife picks up order, and I got a California roll and only 3 of the 4 pcs of sushi I ordered with NO RICE! I called and spoke to the same lady, told her there was a mistake, she YELLED at me saying I got what I ordered, and refused to make it right. Im not a picky person, I normally leave great reviews for businesses, these people just dont give a dam.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!A very sincere review. The fish here is fresh, the hibachi taste just fine. But they seem to always mess up the order for take out / delivery. Once I ordered on the phone salmon ROE, They sent a salmon roll, honest mistake, however on that order the girl who took it called me at 9:45PM hours after we ate and told me I owed her $4.75 for the salmon roll? Weird right, but we love sushi and ordered from them again, tonight, from Uber eats,, we ordered 2 filet hibachi and they forgot the rice, I again ordered salmon ROE and got something totally different. We sent our daughter to go back and get the rice and the young girl gave her attitude acting like we were lying about getting the rice. This is the same girl who gave me attitude about 4 dollars over the phone .I. dont think we will be ordering from here again.
Always great food especially the rice. The restaurant side is great for good food and the hibachi side is fun if you want to add entertainment to your evening.
Staff hosting staff needs retraining on seating time management... We were told a 20 minute wait but they kept pushing and pushing time longer. 3 groups got sat before we left.
This is my first restaurant review. I’m only writing this because my experience was somewhat traumatizing, I’m still upset, and do not want this to happen to another family. My husband and I were excited to try this place, I’d been suggesting it for weeks. We came in about 640 with our 8 month old. They told us we would have to wait 40 mins for overflow or till 8 o clock since we didn’t make a reservation, which we did not think to do due to it being Monday night. We said we would wait. In the sushi section there were only 4 active tables. We kept a positive attitude even though we were starving and the waiting area is by the front door and we froze anytime someone opened it. We finally were able to be seated around 740 or so in an empty hibachi space without the chef, which was explained earlier and we were fine since we just came for sushi. We immediately ordered the super volcano roll and rice and explained we had been waiting and were starving and wanted to go ahead and put that in while we looked over the menu. The rice comes out immediately. When you spend your whole dining experience looking around for your food it’s just not good business for anyone. About 25 mins has passed I sent my husband to see what’s going on with our first roll we ordered (we ordered about 4 more 10 mins or so after that one, again starving) our server who was great said he dropped it first thing. My husband came back and another while goes by I get up and ask about it our server said the same thing. As I’m coming back I see the roll literally smothered in a sauce, drenched, I didn’t care bc I was just happy to have something to eat. Another 15 mins goes by I get up to see if our other rolls are coming, we are approaching 830 at this point. I get told by 3 different employees food is taking an HOUR bc of to go orders...why weren’t we told that? Also, I was told in away as if I should know that? Where is that acceptable? At this point I’m in tears my baby is fussy we basically waited 2 hours to eat some fried rice and a roll drenched in sauce. So now I’m just upset and I feel just horribly mistreated. I ask our server to please cancel our food I just want to leave he seemed a little shocked but understood. I said at this point it’s the principle I told the server that I understand this isn’t his fault and I’m sorry. I paid for our ticket and walked back to the table as they are bringing out our sushi (which seemed like half portions). I told my husband we just need to leave that I already paid for the food we ate. At this point I’m full blown in tears I can’t get over an hour wait for food? I felt awful my husband worked a long day and I thought this would be a nice dinner. We ended up going to chick fil a. The only reason I’m writing this is because I truly do not want this to happen to someone else, it just wasn’t right.
Said it would be 30 mins, now over an hour and still not sitting. They keep saying we are next, but they sit other people. Unbelievable.
Fabulous Food Flavor and Service. I live on Volcano.
Had a excellent experience in this place with my wife. The food comes out quick and the customer service is just awesome. Prices are convenient.
Food is always good! Prob best sushi (& selection) around the area.
We always have a great time and a great meal. Our hibachi chef was amazing and kept us laughing the entire time we were there.
Wonderful birthday lunch with our large family for my sister ! Jai was our chef and he was fabulously entertaining. I think the best I’ve ever seen . Funny, engaging, and very skilled! Food was delish!! Will be back for sure.
One of my faves when in the area. Great food!
We love coming here. Jia is our favorite chef. Hes always so much fun! The food is fantastic. Looking forward to our next visit :)
Oh yes please! Best hibachi and sushi ever!
Was looking for a new place to eat. Did a search for restaurants near me and came up with this place. Had never tried this place before but my wife and I love japanese food and sushi. We ordered drinks to start and they were just right, not to strong or weak. They have alot of different types of sushi, we tried several different both raw and not raw and were impressed with both. The steak, chicken and shrimp were cooked very well. Very good food. Will certainly be back again.
Good food, good atmosphere. No complaints.
Our first time at this place and definitely won’t be the last. It’s was absolutely delicious and great prices. My whole family loved it! You have some new regular customers!
This is the second time we have ordered from them and the second time they have something missing. This time we used a delivery service. We called to let them know we had missing items and that we were going to come pick it up. We told them we were on our way and they said it would be ready for us. It was about 10 minutes to drive there for one missing entree. It wasn’t ready when we got there. We waited over 20 minutes once we got there to pick up the food. They don’t seem to know what they’re doing. It is very frustrating to not have a correct order in the beginning and then drive to the restaurant and still have to wait another 20-30 minutes for one entree.
We have been there before with no issues but last visit there gave us food poisoning. :( Will not be going back, you could literally taste the not so fresh fish
We came during the slow time (5pm on a Sunday) to eat on the hibachi side. We were the only ones waiting at an empty table and the hostess placed us on the side where the grease trap stops at the middle of your plate. Basically the worst seat to watch the show. You’ve got more of the butt of the chef than front action. Since no one was in the other seats and they were slow, we asked to move over to the front of the table. The hostess said was could sit there but would have to move back to the side when someone else came. The hostess was polite but apparently it’s their “policy” to fill up the side first and move around as more come. We left without eating. We love hibachi but this policy, especially during slow times, hinders our enjoyment. We eat hibachi several times a month but we don’t have plans to visit this chain again.
Ordered with Doordash, delicious sushi and cheesecake!
Great food and super people and service
Love this place! Always great food with fresh, crisp veggies. Mango Crunch and Angry Dragon rolls are the best!
Been here a few times for family birthdays, always a great experience. Service is wonderful even when they are packed. The past 2 times Ive had the same server who is always polite and accommodating, no matter how busy they are and how many modifications I make to drinks/food. The food is always perfect both hibachi and sushi. I cant imagine going anywhere else for hibachi. The best place for birthdays, I love the lights and drum.
Sat at the bar and had both hibachi-was super yummy and a special sushi roll.- roll not worth the price..service was good too!
Weve enjoyed everything..atmosphere is wonderful, the people were friendly and very professionals
We celebrated my daughters birthday this week. I was able to make a reservation the day before for a group of seven, so that we could all sit where they cook the food while we watch. It was delicious and entertaining for all. They sang happy birthday with much fanfare and stored my ice-cream cake for our dessert. They even provided additional plates. I highly recommend this restaurant for an enjoyable dining experience...anytime.
The sushi is always so good! So is everything else weve ordered. Staff is friendly. Wait times can be a little long but they are really busy!
Great food, our cook was absolutely amazing with his showmanship!
I often take my friends to this restaurant with my warmest recommendations. I go to this restaurant often. This recommendation is always successful. The dishes they serve are yummy and the team is generous and cooperative. Every time we go to this place we have a splendid evening. I recommend this place with pleasure.
We enjoyed sushi, steak and shrimp. Service was fine, challenged by the number of Happy Birthday renditions in the next room but all was good
Always a crowd pleaser. Get in early on Monday nights!
We had a great dinner here. The sushi was very good, tasted fresh. The service was okay.
Very fun atmosphere and prices were less than I thought.
