Went above and beyond, and worked very quickly. Brought it in for a chain/ sprocket replacement + throttle service. They said it would take them a day, and after finding a few other things wrong, they still had it done 24hr later. they were very upfront and didnt force repairs that werent needed at the time, but told me to keep an eye out and at some point service a few other things, very much a no BS business

Good for quick things- breaks, oil change, tires, helmets, etc. Would not recommend for engine work, estimated 3 weeks for a valve job, took almost 3 months. Ended up costing more than double the quota. Petes cycle and sled in Marlboro is a better option for engine work.

They dont always follow through with giving calls back on the phone, but otherwise I got inspected really quick and easy. I like them except they seem to forget to call me back about parts, not the end of the world. Ive called three times, I think they called me back once, so thats 1 out of 3 times. Not a deal breaker though atleast they have decent people working there.

One of the things you might notice about motorcycle repair reviews is that there are a lot of varied opinions of every shop. Much of that has to do with how long it takes for these mainly small shops to get work done, or about the price of the repair. At busy times - like anytime in May - expect to wait as everybody brings their bike that has been sitting all Winter in for a sticker. This is to be expected. If you are in a hurry then some planning ahead can help. New England is a hard place for motorcycles because few people ride all year long and there arent that many independent repair shops that can afford to wait out long Winters with little to do. Bikworx has dealt with this well by getting to know its regular customers and asking for them to bring bikes in during off times if possible, but they still do get overwhelmed at times. With a three or four person operation I have found you need to expect that waiting times will vary. Galen and company are quite honest, and sometimes fairly direct. The work they do is as good or better than anywhere, and it is hard dirty work they often do. They get five stars from me: been going there for a decade and they have never let me down.

WARNING If you care for your bike, do not bring it to this place!I brought my bike in for oil and filter change, and when they returned the bike to me the undercarriage of the bike was full of oil to the point that it was smoking. When i brought the bike back, the owner how gave the bike back to the techs to clean up. The techs insisted it was simply an oil overflow however when i asked the tech if he had replaced the o ring on the filter his response was what o-ring? needles to say my bike is still leaking oil.DO NOT LET THE KID WITH THE GLASSES ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR BIKE!As if that was not enough they also messed up my kickstand kill switch. The kickstand kill switch to my bike (2007 R6) is right next to the oil filter and you have to go through it in order to get to the filter. That afternoon when i went to put gas on my bike and i mistakenly took off with the kickstand still down and almost lost complete control of the bike when the kickstand hit the floor. I brought this to their attention the very next day. When the techs were looking at the bike to see what was wrong, the owner called them in and it seemed as though they were scolded for looking at the bike without me paying for labor. When i went to talk to the owner directly, his response to me was it was a coincidence that it got messed up while it was in the shop and simply quoted me what labor would be and what the part would cost me.Its hard to find a good responsible shop that actually knows what they are doing. If that is what youre searching for than keep looking because is is definitely not it. This is the first review Ive ever done, but i think its important for you to know who youre giving youre bike to, especially since your life is on the line if anything happens to your bike while youre on it.

Bikeworx is THE place for servicing and repairing your bike...whatever make or type it happens to be. This independent shop is very well run and organized, and always has a healthy inventory of a variety of useful accessories, clothing and personal protection equipment. Ive been dealing with Bikeworx now for twenty years + and Ive NEVER been disappointed...regardless of which vintage bike I had serviced or revived. :-) You can take a late model super bike there with utmost confidence, or one of your Euro or Japanese vintage/older bikes. It doesnt matter. Nor does the type of bike either (street, cruiser, tourer, off-road, MX, trail, racer, etc.). So deal with Bikeworx with the utmost confidence! Youll get great service work at fair/reasonable prices from a great, personable counter staff and expert mechanics. Its certainly worth checking out...no matter where you live in Eastern/Central MA, southern NH or Northern CT.

Wife and I just moved to area an were looking for place for bike service.First time last time, Please go somewhere else.I dropped of my wifes bike on a Saturday @ 10:30 AM( Had APT ) for a oil change, inspection sticker and we needed her muffler reweleded( Noticed that morning is was loose). So we drop the bike off, gave them all our info, and leave by 10:45 AM. The entire day goes by and never got a call and like every shop on Sunday they are closed. So I call them on Monday looking for any update, price anything. I talk to who I guess was Galen and the first 6 words out of his mouth were No,no,no Etc) UM ok whats the nos for? Then he tells me we never touched the bike Saturday at all, and this is because he couldnt weld the muffler and that was a Curve ball, cause we didnt tell him about that till we dropped it off, Um ok but you still could have done the oil change and swapped the tires. He told me he need to get a price on the welding so I asked him to call me back with a price on the welding and the cost for the bike services. BTW I still know nothing about the cost of any services. Yes we could have asked when we dropped it but I wanted to see how they were, and on Monday they still havent done anything to it and I wasnt sure if it needed anything else.. Monday comes and goes, and so does Tuesday still no call. I call on Wednesday to get an update, the young lady that answers the phone tells me she knows nothing about the the bike, price, or if anything is done, she knew nothing. I told her You and me both I have heard nothing on the bike, no prices on anything, she takes my number and says Galen will call me back today. UM NOPE, fast forward to Saturday morning about 11:30( A week after we dropped it off) Im in the area of the shop and figure Ill go in pay for the bike and the wife and I will go back later in the day and pick it up. I walk in and ask to pay for the bike and take the key The young lady behind the counter says Oh that bikes in line for a sticker UM Im sorry the bikes been here for a week and it still needs a stick WTH! I ask how long and she says theres like 3-4 bike in front of it, UM ok whats the bill for the bike, Ok expecting like $170, Oil change is like $90? and cant be anymore than $80( Like $40 a tire) to mount and balance 2 tires.. Boy was I wrong she hits me with $240( no inspection) oil changes was only $60 BTW. What for a oil change and 2 tires i say! Yup she says 2.5 hrs or labor, so $90( 2 Hrs) a hour to mount and balance each tire. Who the hell charges by the hour for labor on a oil change and tires, Guess they do. SO what choice did I have to OVER pay! I argued about it for about 20 mins and he didnt care, Then dont pay and take the bike on its rims he says, WOW what a azz Did some searching online when we got home and found people usually pay $50-$60 a wheel We will never go back. GO somewhere else if you care about getting ripped off or not. Worst first experience anywhere ever!

This is a warning to all those considering Bikeworx, Maynard MA, for doing business. They are incompetent and unprofessional. The owner, Galen actually asked me to F*** off. Heres why?1. Their website claims that it will match anybodys price on tires. They recommended IRC tires, and I noticed a much cheaper price on the web, so I asked if they would actually match BikeBandit price? They said while they cannot match, they will give me a 10% discount.2. They also said it would take 1.5 hours to install on my bike while their website says Show up, browse or hang out, and well professionally install themIn an hour or less3. My tires were supposed to show up last week and I called to ask if they did and they did not! This week again I called and still they are not there and no one can tell when they will arrive.I was patient with them as I wanted to help a local business and give them the benefit of the doubt. This time after waiting over a week when I was told they wont know until next week, I kindly asked them to refund my money so I could take my business elsewhere. The owner, Galen comes on the phone and starts yelling at me. For what, requesting service? He accused me of being frugal, what if I want to get a good deal, isnt that what everyone wants? He could have said sorry we cannot get this on time let me have someone look into this, then I would have probably given them the benefit of the doubt again. He refused to refund my money. The Shut up and F*** off were disappointing and certainly not necessary.I just wished to share my Bikeworx experience with you and help you choose.Thank you.
