Not one person was checked in self check out, until I- a younger black male, came to check my items out. 3 different people walked by me / stood behind me while I got my items. This is not the first time this has happened and it is always in this same store.You did the same thing to my mother- what is wrong with this store? If you have an issue speak up.Anyway, its worth traveling further for the much better supermarkets in other towns with better produce, fruit / veggies, general selection, and kind people throughout the store.

It took an hour for me to shop then a half hour to get through the line. The manager at the time and the employees will had a great and helpful attitude about it. Overall still worth it.

This Stop and Shop is tiny in comparison to most of the larger grocery stores in the area, but serviceable for a basic grocery run for the staples. Produce is often much less fresh than other stores too due to lower shopper counts resulting in slower turn of product, so it rots when you get it home notably faster and you have to inspect items at the store carefully so you dont buy something already too far gone. The fish counter is also tiny, but they keep a better eye on the freshness than the produce, though Id never chance wait more than 36 hrs to cook fish I bought there. The only reason I shop there is it is literally a 3 minute drive from my house. If you have the extra 5 minutes, drive to Market Basket in Maynard, which is literally a 5 min straight shot down the same road and SO MUCH BIGGER WITH 1000x BETTER SELECTION AND FRESHNESS.

Great place. Friendly staff. Nicely laid out. Good selection. They arent the cheapest, but their prices are really reasonable. They always have lots of bargains too that dont require coupons, which I appreciate. I think they are a great grocery.

You guys seriously need to enforce masks. Your employees take time out of their day to work for you people and you endanger their lives every time you allow a customer to enter your store with a mask below their nose, and even with no mask at all! This is also unfair to the other customers who actually follow the Massachusetts COVID guidelines, as they deserve a safe shopping experience. Will not be recommending this store to any of my friends or family.

In addition to the below, no toilet bowl cleaner a at all. Had to go to Star Market again where they were abundant.Besides the fact that they are *consistently* out of essential items like lactose free whole milk for my lactose intolerant kids, youll never be able to find a butcher or someone at the customer service desk. I asked around after I was quite tired of coming here fruitlessly, and they said that the butcher and customer service are available before 4pm. Do I need to take leave from my job to work around Stop & Shops odd timings??

Small store but its local so thats a plus for locals. Not a lot and not an overly stocked store but they actually have a pretty decent produce section. They have a good amount of self check out registers so the flow of customers is really good. Great store for quick trips or forgotten needed Items but for the average household doing a grocery shop- theyd probably do that elsewhere.

I was overly impressed which hasnt happened in a long time. They had everything that I wanted/needed and some things that I didnt expect to see. My cashier and bagger (dont know their names) were off the charts awesome, funny and accommodating.

Not as huge as other locations but still a nice clean store with lots of variety and great weekly specials.

An oddly laidout or stop and shop, interesting to look at different organization in a store of s chain thats usually so consistent.

Dirty..empty shelves..rude employees..thank God for market basket..no more stop and shop

During Covid-19, with a mask mandate in place several customers chose not to wear their masks correctly having their nose exposed. One customer had their mask under their chin. I share this for the benefit of those who are Covid conscious or concerned.

Nice store

I only give this place 2 stars because it’s close and there’s one (only one) cashier who’s polite and courteous. She’s an older lady who knows how to treat / greet customers and works there during the day. The teenagers you have working there know nothing about customer service. One girl actually answered her phone / watch while checking out my items, rattling on in Spanish, but said exactly nothing to me (the customer). I switched to market basket in the past year which has been a much more pleasant experience to spend my nearly $12,000/ year on food.

This is my local market. There are lots of good deals and it is a good place to pick up essentials. I was a big fan of their butcher department for a year or so until one time my pork chops (shrink wrapped on a styrofoam tray) and also a fancy beef steak from behind the butchers counter both tasted like bleach. So I dont buy meat there that they prepare in the store anymore, but anything else is decent.

Very clean and well stocked for seniors who are shopping early morning. only setback was no plumsmart light.

We really dont come here anymore unless absolutely necessary but everytime we do its ridiculous. There is a very clear lack of management in all departments and it really shocks me.

I am a resident of this town. I was spending money at your store today at 10:30, and I was discriminated against by your cashier,his name John. I always think that stop and shop management system is very strict, and this kind of thing has not happened during my previous visits. But because of this extraordinary period, as a consumer of your store, should I be treated like this because of my Asian face?

Stop and shop is an excellent place to shop for groceries. They have quality products. And they have outstanding staff to help and offer asstance.

They sold me some sprite cranberry for a total bargain. Well worth your time.

This is a tired Stop & Shop, and I feel for the staff. Many really nice people work there. Everything is just OK...never fully stocked...very average selection...in a pinch, you should find the essentials. Produce can be fair to good. Dairy...check the expiration dates...Meats only in an emergency...Frozen section needs a big upgrade...non-food items are just filling shelf space...Check your receipts and basket when exiting, the Summer help has been making mistakes. This store has already undergone a significant makeover...Now it needs an exorcism...

Very poor quality produce and floral. Go to Whole Foods for cheaper prices on produce and better quality (green onions are .79 at WF and $1.79 here, bananas same prices and so on). Multiple times other items have been expired when I purchased them (shame on me for not checking dates in the store). Recent turnover of staff means less friendly individuals now serving customers. Would not recommend.

Its a decent supermarket for the area, The prices are better than other local options and the food is always fresh.

Wonderful grocery store as far as stop & shops go its not the biggest but its a great little store, the only thing but I have to say which is one little word of advice the fried chicken is horrible I bought a $9 platter for my family and for dinner and wow it tasted like plastic.

The store is clean & staff is friendly & helpful. Prices run a bit higher than other groceries, but there is good selection in most departments & this location is convenient. There is also a Coinstar machine just inside the entrance.

Convenient they have most things we need but you pay for the convenient location with the prices. their floral department is move and theyre very helpful

This store has no help, there’s never any shopping carts inside, not fully stocked and the kids behind the service desk don’t know what they are doing and don’t know the state laws for things ringing up wrong.THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT!When I recently went there it took about 15 minutes at the service desk because my plums at self scan rang up wrong. The girl behind the desk didn’t know what she was doing, she had to go and look for the sale sign, she had to call the manager, then went over to the self scan to check the price on there which came up wrong again and then finally came back and gave money back. It should’ve taken that long for me to get my money back because the state law is if something rings up wrong the customer has to get that item for free. I’ve never had this problem at Whole Foods or Market Basket! WHEN IS MARKET BASKET COMING TO MAYNARD!!

Prices are insanely high. Decent customer service is the only reason it got a second star. Shelves are often bare.

There is a wide selection of food, with good prices compared to the rest of Acton. The wait is very long at peak times, and the self checkout kiosk has a lot of issues, but overall it is a good grocery store.

The prices at Stop and Shop (with the store card) are generally lower than the other grocery stores in Acton. They have a great produce section and often have ingredients needed for certain ethnic dishes. Their store made guacamole is one of my favorites.They use technology to speed you on your way. At the deli you can place your order electronically and then stop by to pick it up when you have finished the rest of your shopping. There are also 4 self serve check out stations for small orders. I have never experienced a wait at the self serve.Many of the employees dont seem to be happy ... not all greet you with a smile and more importantly some work slowly.

I was wondering how Stop Shop trains its cashier?I had a very bad experience just now.The Cashier didnt even tell me how much I should pay when he finished his products scan. He didnt say anything. I was like what should I do?? Pay now?? But how much should I pay??? Is this the customer service Stop Shop provides to customers???

Lots of parking always. They push self checkout so very few cashiers. Avoid using their purchase guns. Never worked for me. Good idea but implementation fails .

Sale prices are good, regular prices not so much.

Smells in there. Old. When u go to other stores in the area ( Donelons, Roche Bros even Shaws) you can see and smell the difference. Seafood area needs to look cleaner. Some produce areas overcrowded and uninviting. I go occasionally because they have some ethnic stuff.

Just moved to the area and I was very disappointed in the stop and shop. Out of many things including certain popular bagels, cream cheese, and other items. The shopping carts are dirty and rusty. The cashier was too busy talking about when her break was to another employee and barely acknowledged me. Not a place I want to shop especially when you have th o be a member to get sale prices.

Go to Roche Bros. in stow, much nicer store, better selection, fresher foods, nicer cashiers. Theres one cashier in Stop & shop in Acton, hes older than the kids working there, guys a total ass. hes bad for business, big mouth, talks real loud so everyone hears him.

The only reason i go to stop and shop is a matter of necessity. It always sucks! Its a rip off and i dont like it at all...

Lousy selection, couldnt even get grapefruit juice! Shelves are frequently understocked. God forbid you would want anything remotely upscale. Its a good place with people who are willing and nice enough to help you out. They definitely stuck to their sections, which can be good or bad. Have had everything I have gone to look for, so far.

I find it easy to find items at this Stop and Shop; the people who work there are very pleasant and competent; and, they always have all of the staple items that I need week to week.d I love being able to buy some flower/veggie items for my garden/yard here in the springtime for very reasonable prices, as well.

Got most things. No beer though, but I think thats a US thing (Im from the UK where supermarkets do sell beer)

Only really practical supermarket I have uet found close to east Acton, shelves are understacked with products you want and full of those you dont want, signs are confusing... employees do help a lot though and the parking is fairly empty lots of the time. Donmt bother going there if there is something closer

I live 10 minutes from this business. I needed a service they offer, and before driving over there, I called - the woman responsible for the service refused to even tell me she was capable of this job, then put the manager on the line - who repeated what she said and hung up on me. Besides prices that are inflated beyond all competing suermarkets, even the manager is beyond rude - and the manager sets the tone for all employees - which is obvious. Neither my wife nor myself will ever shop at this location and will avoid any other Stop and Shop since the corporation is responsible for employing such incompetent, customer-hating employees. I also am relaying this complaint to my 52 employees who will in turn relay this information to their friends and families. Businesses invite crushing competition that behave like this, as well as scrutiny of those in corporate that hire them. Boycott this store and use the other markets near them.
