I am in love with this pump AND this company. For me, the biggest benefit of the Omnipod is the lack of tubing. I love that I dont have to worry about catching the tubing on something and ripping it out, and I love that the Personal Diabetes Manager (PDM, the device that controls insulin delivery) doesnt have to be on my person at all times. I can leave it in my purse and just grab it whenever I need to. I can still swim as much as I would ever want, and the adhesive has only been a problem once (after a day of going in and out of the water). Before Omnipod, I was on multiple daily injections. 10/10 would recommend becoming a Podder! It has helped me exercise without getting lows, it has made it easier to deal with blood sugars in public, it makes it possible for me to deliver extended boluses when I know that I will get high blood sugars overnight (after pizza or ice cream). On top of all this, every single interaction I have had with Omnipod has been OUTSTANDING. They go above and beyond to ensure that I get replacement pods when something malfunctions. They have a team of people who train you on how to use the pump and then check in with you to be sure all is well after youve been using it for a few weeks. This is the kind of company I want to work with - especially when dealing with insurance/the medical field more generally is often frustrating. As their customer service always says, they are there for you 24/7/365.Thank you, Omnipod!

I was diagnosed with T1D in 2008. The OmniPod is my third insulin pump. I’ve had positive experiences with all my pumps, but the pod is the absolutely way to go. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize how beneficial being free of tubing is. I’m a martial artist, and with strong adhesive tapes, the pod rides well with me as I take and receive a beating - surviving vigorous movement and sweat. The OP team has been nothing but over the top helpful, welcoming and supportive every step of the way, as well. They’ve got me as a loyal customer.

Omnipod system was completely life-changing for me. I was previously using a pump that was bulky, non-waterproof and tubing that constantly was getting caught on things. Among many other positive qualities the best is the simplicity of putting in the needle using the PDA and virtually painless. I’ve been a diabetic for 39 years And this is by far been the best way to control my blood sugars

I wish I had an app on my cellphone and/or after being out so long the company would fix bugs. I also constantly have issues where I can not enter my BGL due to “Bluetooth unavailable” I try about 6 times then I will most of the time get it to work, also why can’t omnipod work with a cgm like dexcom or freestyle Libre to integrate the bgl! Before you respond I know you will say something to the effect of thank you for letting us know but we would like to keep your privacy please contact us at 1-800 we really could care less and are sending out a generic response but only care about sales

I must tell you I love the my V-Go with the change every 24 hour vs 16 sticks or more a day. I love my Dr. for being on top of the new technology in his field of expertise. My Dr. talks to me and he listens. He has a great desire to make life bumps in the road durable. It took a while before I was approved and when I got my boxes and training I was in heaven. I can put it on many different places, it does not hurt too much, it is so small and keeps me up with what to do and how to do what I have to. It even fusses at me. LOL in a beeping way. It goes great with Free Style 14. Best of all, I checked my A1C before three months and it went from 9.9 to 8.7 within a 1 1/2 months. I am excited to want to live again. I have been very happy with my Omnipod Dash after more than a month of use and would have given a 5-star rating before reading the recent urgent email concerning the possibility of accidental use of an old BG reading. This indicates to me that the coding was not completely vetted and I wonder what other “bugs” may be lurking out there. I was not reassured when I accidentally responded to the email that I “did not understand” because the “yes” and “no” buttons were too close to each other on my phone. Details are important.

To me, the choice of Omnipod was simple--I did not want to deal with a tube set every time I take a shower which is sometimes twice per day when I play golf or work out.I am an active person and the Omnipod does not get in the way of activities. I am so pleased with the customer service the few times that I have had a pod fail. I am a 61 year old T1D. I find that managing my insulin is easy with the meter that comes with your first set of pods. The personal diabetes meter is dated and will be updated within the next year according to the articles I have read. The current meter works fine but the new meter will be in a Smart phone format. I highly recommend this system for its ease of use and convenience.

Will not do business with this company again. About 3 months ago I called them and was told I would be eligible for a free upgrade to Dash. But it wasn’t out yet. So I waited about a month and called back. I was then told: that it was out and the only way I could get the upgrade was to start buying my pods directly from them. I told them that as per my insurance, I must buy them from a provider that my insurance deals with. They then told me they could not upgrade me. They lied to me twice. They said since it was so late it would go out the next day and be delivered the morning of Fri May 1st. That was fine and she kept reassuring me it would be there. Well friday came and went and still no new cord. I checked the tracking for it and it didnt even get shipped until friday and wont be delivered until end of day May 7. OVER A WEEK LATER!!! Luckily, i found a back up plan before my system went dead. With flat out lies like that, telling a person it will be there one day and not delivered until over a week later can be deadly to some. It may be just a job answering phones to some people but for others on the ither end of the line it could be their life and be deadly. Trust me if thats the way this company operates then it wont be long until i find me a new company!!! If i could give less than 1 star i def would

Two things for 5 stars.1) Getting Omnipod to sync with my Dexcom CGM.2) More effort needs to be put into the app support of the most widely used Android phones. Along with that, dont only consider release dates of particular Android phones when determining end of support because people still buy new previous versions when newer phones become available.Comment section in future survey would be benefical to hear from your customers.

Im truly not happy to be posting this, but I have to get it off my chest... A year and a half ago, I met with the Omnipod specialist to learn how insert it, etc. She programed everything. Well, for the last year and a half, Ive suffered with crazy highs and lows. I brought the wild fluctuations to the attention of my new endocrinologist every three or four months and nothing was adjusted. I have finally taken the programing into my own hands. (I did have some support from a nice young man on the help line with Omnipod, but to be honest I think I taught him more than he helped me.) I have now adjusted most of my setting and have finally stabilized my BS. I believe my frustration is shared with my whole team, the Omnipod person that didnt program my pump properly, my doctor who didnt listen to me, and me... I should have been more vocal and proactive.

No kinks in tubing and no catching on door handles as I walk by ripping everything out painfully! As a single mother for most of my youngest daughter’s life, there’s no better feeling than confidence in her medical care. Diagnosed at the young age of 6 years, now being 20, managing 14 years of T1D really affects the mother daughter bond.Being a nurse, and having a CDE, as a mom, it can be difficult to know the possible complications of T1D, and not smother my daughter with details. She isn’t perfect, I don’t expect anyone to be, but she definitely manages her Diabetes more easily with Omnipod. I trust the pod to deliver accurate doses and the added convenience of temp basal and extended boluses are a God-send. She’s always been active, enjoyed every sport and activity growing up and currently nannies for other families with children who are afflicted with T1D. Also, I decorate my pods, its so much fun, theyre like wearing a three day tattoo or painting my nails super funky.Cons: Only holds 200 units. The PDM is outdated. Ive been told a new PDM with the ability to handle different insulin concentrations is coming soon, but Ive heard that for a year, and it still isnt here yet. The new PDM doesnt sound like they will be changing much aside from the look and feel of it. Only one option for the infusion set, soft cannula, 6 mm and 45 degree angle. Freestyle is the integrated meter, and its accuracy is not so great. Also, sounds like theyre last in line for getting their AP onto the market.Gets 4 stars because for me tubeless is a huge deal.

So when I install a new one at 11:30 pm, the PDM starts beeping and wakes me up at 1 am with a check-my-BG reminder. WHY WHY WHY?? Apparently this reminder is a safety feature and cannot be disabled (believe me, Ive tried). Doesnt the PDM scan the pod for cannula occlusions? Why do I need to check my BG if the PDM is checking for problems and will wake me up with a screaming alarm anyway (which it has)? I would happily sign any waiver shielding Insulet from responsibility if I could just turn the stupid thing off!I have heard this complaint in several discussions Ive had with other podders. I love my Omnipod! I only have a few reservations. First, I am a singer in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. This requires times when my pod MUST be silent, which is not an option. I live in fear of the array of beeps, and especially of the screaming alert when a pod fails. Fortunately, that hasnt happened when Im performing, but the beeping has. I have to perform with my PDA in my hand when I know an alert might happen (like the alert that the pod will expire in eight hours). This has been a big pain for me. I wish you would allow me to switch it to vibrate! One other thing is that I strangely fear my dependence on this device. Ive been diabetic for 30 years, and now traveling has become much more of a hassle than it used to be. In many ways, using a pen was more convenient than the pod and my CGM are!

I have been a loyal customer of Insulets Omnipod Insulin Infusion Pump for about 10 years now. When I became enrolled in Medicare, much to my disappointment, I discovered that Medicare does not cover the durable supplies for my pump. They do, however, cover the durable supplies for Medtronics Mini Med Infusion Pump. So, I decided to try using that pump. After only about 3 months, I couldnt stand it anymore and went back to my Omnipod. The Mini Med pump took me anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes to change the site, it was difficult to read their screen because there was no contrast, and I hated walking around with tubing hanging from my body. What a difference in using Omnipod! It literally takes me under 4 minutes to change the site, there is no tubing hanging off my body and I can shower with it on. So, I am biting the bullet and paying out of pocket for my supplies and will NEVER go back to that outdated, cumbersome mini med pump. Omnipod has helped me control my Type One diabetes better than any method of treatment Ive had and Ive had diabetes for over 57 years now. I urge TiD diabetics to give it a try. You wont regret it!

As a very active kid, he loves the fact that he doesnt have to carry a bulky tubed pump in his pocket or have loose tubing visible or getting caught on things. As his mom, I love that I can use the PDM to bolus his insulin for him remotely, and that he can be more free to just be a kid. I cant imagine going back to a tubed pump or to injections. Omnipod makes everything easier.

I have to say I am amazed at how far technology has come.I’ve had type two diabetes for over 20 Years. The different treatments were not working for me. Finally my New Dr. did a test to show my pancreas made insulin no more! It was One of the best days of my life because I knew that it wasn’t me and all of my efforts weren’t wasted.I did some research and Discussed pumps with my doctor. She told me about Omni Pump and I’ve been using it for three days now and it’s amazing! It looks so complicated to use but it isn’t at all. My educator Jo-Ann was so knowledgeable, patient and funny. My biggest fear was the insertion of the cannula, omg no lie It felt like a little flick of paper on your skin! I closed my eyes before I Hit the button, and when I did Jo-Ann and I both laughed because I said “that’s it!” Lol too funny 😂 Now no more sticking myself with needles, carrying needles around, it’s so freeing and my sugars have been best they’ve been in years! Omnipod Rocks in my world! Oh P.S. the rest of my team were very helpful in the process of getting my unit. Felicia and Nico, thank you.God bless you all!

I had always planned to be MDI my whole life because I didn’t want to deal with tubes and snagging stuff with them. When I heard about Omnipod and how it was tubeless and waterproof I decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did because it was a huge improvement for both my life and my control. Takes a while to get everything set up right, but so worth it when you do. At this point I’d never go back to MDI.

I was on a pump with tubing for 21 years. When my physician suggested I look at OmniPod due to my issues with the tubing, I was so elated to experience freedom. I no longer feel weighted down by something I would have to wear with tubing. Consistently, I would have to be concerned the tubing did not get caught on a door knob, limb, crag or rock while hiking, as well as the weight of the device on my waist band, and especially with the sports pack, maneuvering with it in hopes it would not get knocked of. Now, I forget I even wear a pump until its time to change it, as its not accompanied by tubing and something thats needing to be placed somewhere in a pocket, on a waistband, taped down (good luck taking a bolus) when wearing a dress. Granted, its a big bump under my garment, but the relief difference is insurmountable for me.Now, these devices are by no means perfect, in fact, in the 2 years Ive worn the OmniPod, Ive had to call several times in the 2nd year, as though the batches of pods this year have an issue. But the pleasantness of being able to reach a representative quickly (waiting on hold for endless minutes when I was with another pump manufacture, not fun) and sending replacements for the pods that have alarmed, as well as sending refund checks for insulin costs lost due to pods alarming before insulin has been used within them, is phenomenal. Customer service is something they consistently strive to improve, as I can attest, just based upon each survey they send, I respond, and it seems there are similar responses, because next time I call, its as though theyve retrained/addressed the concern, impressive!!

The Omnipod insulin pump made a huge difference to my child and family. Branden was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 2 with an a1c of 11. For about 3 years, we had to give him painful insulin shots manually. I sought for a less painful way to treat my son. Omnipod was the answer! No more waking my son out of a sound sleep with a painful shot. With Omnipod, my son sleeps right through because the pod feeds the insulin. As a parent with a young child, this was huge relief. Today, Branden is 10 years old, and his a1c is 7.3. Omnipod has been a pain-free lifesaver!

I love the Omnipod insulin management system. The first thing I love about this system is the fact that it is tube free, this gives me a certain assurance that the insulin pump will not kink or snagging on objects as I am wearing it. I dont have to worry about where to put the pump in my garments or attach to my waistband. Once it is on my body it is discreet and no one knows that I am wearing an insulin pump unless I choose to tell them.Omnipod delivers insulin continuously for 72 hours. I do not have to remove the pump or disconnect anything before I take a shower. In my upcoming summer vacation I will truly get to test Omnipod water proofing as I plan to take a swim at the beach. Both the pump and the PDM are discreet, I have given myself boluses and corrections in class, ar work and even on the subway with no one noticing. So, like anything mechanical there is bound to be some failures and the Omnipod is no exception. However, customer service is A++. When speaking to a representative its like talking to a friend who is concerned about my issues, understand my issue and is willing to help me. Customer service representatives are very knowledgeable about the product as well, I have called to ask how to change the date on my PDM and I was helped right away.I do not plan on changing nor do I desire a different insulin management system, Omnipod is just perfect for me.Thanks, Insulet!!!
