The breakfast sandwich was pretty good - fluffy eggs, and that perfect breakfast sausage. Be aware that the breakfast sandwiches don’t come with cheese, it’s about a $1 more which makes this a relatively pricey sandwich.

I have been going to Bagels Plus for years and I actually own a business in the same plaza. They have the most friendly staff and the absolute best bagels around! I would highly recommend the BLT because that’s my favorite but all of their bagels are fantastic and I highly recommend this business to anyone who is looking for a great breakfast or lunch! Just don’t forget they only except cash

Delicious homemade bagels. Very disorganized staff when it gets busy, though. Stopped in and ordered a breakfast sandwich and they forgot about my sandwich for almost 10 minutes. It wasnt until one of the girls behind the counter asked the girl who took my order what I was waiting for that they even started making it. I then realized that everyone was placing their order with the cashier, and then going and telling another person what they ordered from the cashier so the other person could get it. Very disorganized.....but delicious bagels nonetheless.

Bagels are good, working staff is good...they never answer the phone because of owner! I walked in to 5 girls standing there and the phone ringing lol he says it’s to get people out quick but the quickest way to do so is to hire someone to take calls on sat/sun so people aren’t waiting around inside! Possibly even have a phone order window for pick up? I just don’t get it and find it very frustrating! I’m sure people don’t even go because they think they are closed. Just terrible for business!

I lived in NYC. Im very picky about bagels. These are REALLY good. The best traditional Sesame Seed bagel Ive found in MA and I appreciate that they have some more exotic varieties. I LOVE the Sunflowers nutty flavor and a Cinnamon Sugar coated bagel with cream cheese satisfies my sweet tooth. Also, reliably excellent traditional latte & cappuccino. When made well the pumpkin spice, choco/carmel sprinkled whipped cream - is superfluous.

There are three places for bagels on the esat/west corridor -- Brookline, Newton, and Acton. I live closer to Acton. The range of flavors is limited.. there is, for example, no sisal rye bagel. What the have is great. The outside is firm with a touch of crunch, with an inside that is flavorful and chewy.Their lox spread cream cheese is also good, and is worth a try. The whitefish salad is smooth and salty, but doesnt seem to be shop-made.During this pandemic, trips to Bagels Plus for a dozen bagels happen frequently. There are sometimes more people inside than I am comfortable with, so better to go at slow times.

Bagels Plus has been my go-to for bagels for 15+ years. They are a popular spot but always well staffed so you move through and get your order quickly. Their bagels are the best around. The selection is vast and always fresh. They also offer breakfast sandwiches (which I hear are great). They seem to get a lot of take-out traffic but there is indoor seating for those that wish to dine-in. Coffee is good and they also make real cappuccinos. Give them a try and I bet they will soon become your go-to stop as well.

Best bagels in the area, by far. Bill, the owner, is a stickler for good ingredients, and it shows. The cream cheese and lox are much better than what they sell in supermarkets, too. It is cash only, but it does have, of all things, a Bitcoin ATM (along with a regular one). By the way, if you have noticed that some reviews say the service is great while others say it is terrible, that is because the good staff get weekends off and are replaced by high-school kids who are kind of lame but need jobs. Try going on weekdays if you can.

I really wanted to like this place because the food was fantastic. The bagels are unbelievable. The coffee is perfect. But, my wife has a sesame seed allergy, and both times that we went there we were very clear about that, asking politely if they could just clean the area a little bit because even one or two sesame seeds could cause a reaction.Now, I wouldnt give it a low score if it were just a few seeds on my wifes Bagel sandwich. Going to a place where they have sesame seed Bagels and getting a sandwich there is a bit of a risk on our end. So I wouldnt blame them if there had been a few sesame seeds. Instead, she received a sandwich that had well over 20 sesame seeds. Three sesame seeds has sent her to the emergency room. Just for this reason I have to give this place a 2.By giving a two, that means I will try this bagel place again in the future. And, if I do and it is improved, I will revise my rating and my review.EDIT: Changed to one star from two because allergies need to be taken seriously. Would not have reviewed if they just said that they couldnt accommodate my request.

High prices, food is not up to par with the price. Ordered a Salmon bagel for $8+ and salmon didnt even cover all of bagel. Lattes taste more like regular coffee with extra sugar.

Bagels are better than any chain place for sure, cream cheese options are ok.That said, theres absolutely no reason not to accept any payment other than cash. If you can have an ATM and Bitcoin machine to pass on costs to your consumers while you make money off hosting the machines, then you can add 2-3% to your prices and accept cards.Revenue will go up and more than cover the costs, plus youre doing many consumers a favor and saving them time or absurd atm fees. Consumers spend more and this is a fact, I myself would have spent $20-25 getting more food plus drinks as opposed to only the $10 in my wallet. That additional revenue alone could have covered $500-600 of card purchase fees.In this day and age if youre intentionally not accepting modern payment youre being consumer adverse. Its not like were going to be going back to a cash only consumer economy anytime soon so just make the transition and take down all the unfriendly signs and free up the ATM space.Also dont just hire only attractive high school girls to work the front, its weird and this isnt the 90s. If the owner is a woman trying to support other young women fine, but if youre a guy thats just creepy.

I cant believe I havent reviewed Bagels Plus considering it is and has been a staple of my diet for the last 10 years. The bagels are more New England than New York as the crust is softer than the NY style. That being said, the bagels toast up beautifully and make great bases for anything from a basic bagel and cream cheese to heartier sandwiches. The atmosphere is home-like and casual. You feel like you could hang out all day and there is plenty of space to do so as the upstairs accommodates more people. For those looking for a new place to do some work at, Bagels Plus works as they offer Wifi. The one thing to remember is that they are a cash-only establishment, which allows them to have sharp prices. However, in case you forget your cash, there is an on-site ATM. Another must try for the Acton area.

The food is solid. And so are the people making it. But the owner needs to invest in a credit/debit POS and a bigger toaster.Being cash-only, imposing an ATM fee is a serious drawback. Its like paying for another item. The person working cash register often doubles as coffee prep, and the bottleneck it creates in line is horrendous. Adding a digital payment option would help with the wait times.Another thing adding to wait times: the small, antiquated-looking toaster that gets a large stack of bagels on top of it (the queue) when the place gets busy.

Bagels Plus has the MOST DELICIOUS bagels in the area, period. However, one must go through Dante’s Inferno to get them.There is no customer service; rather there’s a gaggle of teen-age looking girls who are more interested reconnecting with friends who stop by than they are dishing up these yummy bagels. To say that they move at a glacial pace would be a lie. In fact, moving that fast would be a vast improvement requiring neck braces for anyone in the shop.This gaggle seems to be mesmerized by the one toaster in the shop. Which I can understand the attraction to shiny objects, but girls – it’s a toaster! Together they put the bagels in and together they wait and watch as they come out the other end. Not one of them is able to break their zombie-like stare and actually multi-task.Which leads me to believe that the hiring process goes something like this: Q: Have you ever toasted anything? A: Yes. Q: Have you ever spread anything, like butter or cream cheese? A: Yes. Q: Do you have a pulse? A. A what? Never mind, you’re hired.While talking about management, which I assume is the party making the hiring decision, where are you? Do you have a clue as to what goes on in your shop? Can you imagine how your revenue and customer satisfaction would increase if your staff actually moved like they had a purpose? No, hanging out at the toaster is not customer service. Chatting rather than paying attention to the next person in line is not customer service.So, let’s circle back to customer service, in general, as it doesn’t thrive here. Imagine the experience that I and others might have if we are kindly greeted by an employee rather than treated like another interruption to their otherwise exciting life. Imagine, some kind of order behind that counter, where folks are assigned jobs – that’s right, it means the group worship of the toaster comes to an end and you assign one or two people to pull the bagel, cut it, toast it, and so one. Oh, what are other folks doing? Well, a couple could make drinks, others could prep the cream cheese – which is also DELICIOUS, and perhaps one of them understands math enough to run the cash register and make change. I know, I know, sounds complicated, so I recommend observing the staff of an area dunkin donuts or Panera. They’ve figured it.No, I don’t stop here for bagels anymore; but my husband does. It’s torture for him, but happy wife, happy life.
