BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT ANY USED VEHICLE PURCHASEHad a very negative experience with them. I recently purchased a Honda Odyssey from them, and during my talks with the salesman, I let him know that I generally like to have a mechanic look at cars before I buy them. He told me that he didnt think there was a need for that, since they have their guys look at it, and they had already done some repairs for the check engine light. Seeing as they had generally positive reviews, I took his word for it.Upon receiving the car, it had to be jump started the next day. Within probably 10-20 miles of driving the car, the check engine light comes on. So I took it to a mechanic and there were about $4000 worth of repairs to be done on it (The car only cost $6000).So of course I called them and explained the situation to them, and after all I was told, the sales manager explained that used cars are NOT actually mechanically inspected prior to selling them. Convenient that they waited till after I bought it to make that clear by word of mouth.If youre looking for used cars in SD, I would avoid them, but at the very least get the car looked at before buying it since they will not fix anything after it is sold.

I just bought a vehicle a week ago from Harr Motors here in Aberdeen South Dakota Chris paid and Nick in finance are the best theres ever been this is not just a car dealership these are people that actually care about their customers I was really nervous about making this purchase since it has been about 20 years they have gone above and beyond after the sale to answer all of my questions to make me feel comfortable and feel good and knowing I made the right decision I definitely went to the right team at Harr Motors in Aberdeen South Dakota to make my new vehicle purchase these gentlemen are an asset to their industry and to Harr Motors if you need a vehicle whether its new or used please go and see them they will work with you they will help you anyway they can they are absolutely wonderful thank you guys so much for making me feel special and important before during and especially after my vehicle purchase

Reference to Harr motors in Redfield: Service is an absolute joke. Left our vehicle to be repaired 1 and a half years ago. Was told after a couple of days of calling that the vehicle was finished. Told them we were on our way to get it and when we arrived they were closed. Walked around and found someone who hadnt left yet and got the keys. Driving up the road and realized that the truck hadnt been fixed. We took it back and parked it. Called repeatedly over the next week and finally went back to take it somewhere to be fixed and the truck hadnt moved from where I had parked it a week earlier. They did replace the fuel filter cap and I paid for that before I left. They assured me that there were no other charges. Two months later they sent a bill and we contacted them. They said that everything was fine. 2 more months and we got a bill again. Same scenario. This happened at least 3 other occasions. A year and a half later, they have sent the bill to collections and unless I want a black mark on my credit, I have no choice but to pay. We have purchased from these people and had general oil changes done and now we are finished. Save yourself the misery.There was a very nice reply to my review. The suggestion was that I call and try to work out the problem. The problem is that we have tried to work this out and were told that they would look into it and call us back. Never did they call back. And, to be assured that the matter has been handled, was anything but truthful. As a matter of fact, after sending the bill to collections, I called once more and they couldnt find any record of the exact date of service or any notes that we had ever contacted them, or the amount of the actual bill. I would say that calling to work it out is no longer an option. No, that is enough.Follow-upThank you to Ken White at the Aberdeen Harrs Motors, for finally resolving this issue. This is the way that this mess should have been handled in the beginning. Ken was not involved in the original transaction but he stepped up and did a great job resolving this problem. Thank you Ken.

Worst experience Ive ever had. Needed a fuel filter replaced on a 2008 duramax I purchased from them a few months back. Charged me 108$ for a 30$ filter, charged me for 1.5 hours of work for a 10 minute filter replacement (its literally right on top of the engine). All said and done? $300 for 10 minutes of work. I will never buy anything from them or have any work done by them every again and Ill be sure to spread the word around about what a scam theyre running. Its bad enough they scam you for a 10 minute job, worst case their incompetent techs actually took an hour and a half to do a 10 minute job. What a scam

BUYER BEWARE!! Bought a 12 Sequoia from them a little over a month ago. Drove up from Sioux Falls. As we looked through it we found little things wrong and negotiated according. We should have walked away because what Toyota dealership doesn’t inspect a vehicle before selling it. I found evidence of mice calling this car home. I have found chewed and repaired wires as well. I have tried to get ahold of them multiple times. Sent emails with pictures and voice mails with no answer or return call. Don’t believe anything they tell you about a used vehicle!

The sales end of this company is just fine. Polite helpful but not all that knowledgeable with the finer points of the Honda I bought. The biggest complaint is the financing. They were high-6.47% (about) on a used car. I ended up refinancing at 3.47% with my credit union. I didn’t like that we were told that interest rates had gone that high when after I found online at least three others with rates less than 4.3%. The old trust me. Don’t trust them and shop your loan rates before buying. Gone are the days when the car seller had the best rate. I saved about $1400 dollars by refinancing with someone else. They also use different loan lengths than the conventional loan companies instead of 5 years or 60 months they use five and a half years or 66 months. When you look at the monthly payment it isn’t as painful with th longer terms but. You are still losing money in my case $1400 over the whole term.

This was first time in a car dealership looking for a car. I was nervous and was unsure of how the process worked, but Rhonda did a great job of helping me get comfortable and walk me thru step by step the car buying process. I was a unique situation so it took longer than most people, but while I was waiting for financing and lenders, Rhonda explained everything to me about my car and it’s features. Absolutely would never buy another vehicle from this dealership. If I could give 0 stars I would, Went out of MT to SD and bought a used GMC duramax with around 95,000 miles on it and didn’t even drive it 2000 miles and the motor starting leaking coolant due to a bad head gasket. Talked to a sales manager and was told potentially if I got it to them to inspect they could maybe help cover parts or some labor but it wouldn’t amount to much even though the overall cost of the job would be between $6k and 8k at least. Claimed there mechanics are some of the best and all vehicles of that price go through a multi point inspection but that even they may miss things from time to time. No way the pickup just randomly started leaking after 2000 miles of driving it, so I’m sure they either totally missed it which is totally unacceptable for a certified mechanic to not catch, or they knew about it all along and didn’t want to put the money into it and just sold it as is which is total BS on there part to sell a faulty vehicle and have a customer sign paperwork thinking they are getting a certified used vehicle. Have attempted to call the owner Matt Harr several times and even left messages for a week or better now and of course no returned calls from him which only helps support my theory that sold me a vehicle with a bad motor and had no intention of ever doing the right thing and paying for fix which should have happened before it was ever sold. So as I said to begin with I would never buy from here again and I would warn any potential buyers to do there due diligence on vehicles before even agreeing on a purchase from them.

Bought a Subaru Baja from them, kind of hard to find these vehicles but thats what we wanted so located a nice clean one from them. After doing some research and being it had 100K on it already, I wanted specific information about service records. They are known to have head gasket problems and also the timing belt needs to be replaced at 100k. So my husband asked the salesman and confirmed it again before purchase, so asked him twice if the head gaskets had been done and the timing belt. He said yes they have both been done. I drove it 26k miles and it started leaking oil. My husband who has been a mechanic for over 40 years thought it was probably the head gaskets and ordered parts to replace it. Meanwhile we had a recall on a previous airbag recall and took it in to a Subaru dealer to get it done and they handed me an estimate of $2500 and informed me that the head gaskets needed replacing and that would be the cost if we wanted to have it done. So my husband went to replace the head gaskets and when he was able to see the timing belt, he could see it was wore out and had never been replaced. So we replaced that too. Called and talked to Dustin and informed him that I had been point blank lied to by them about the head gaskets and timing belt having been done. He just said nothing we can do, its as is. Which would be ok if I wouldnt have straight out asked about those specific things. But I did and they lied to me about it. I did no haggling over this sale, I paid them full price for this vehicle because I thought it was in top notch condition. Lies, Lies Lies and they wont even discuss making it right with me. Left message for owner and he doesnt return phone calls. DO NO BUY A VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE. We have owned our own dealership and service center for boats and ATVs and we are straight forward with people. We dont lie to anyone to make a sale, and we stand behind what we say. Cant believe they wont even offer to make it right. I have over $800 in parts and if I would have had to pay labor would have been $3500 to get it all done. We charge $100 an hour for labor in our shop, but my husband had to put in over 20 hours to get this fixed. So buyer beware, these people are lying scammers. The whole point that I want to make is that they outright lied to me. We did buy the vehicle at the end of December in 2017 but did not drive it until summer of 2018. Like I said, we put 26000 miles on it but the outright lie about the regular maintenance of the vehicle like the timing belt that needed to be changed at 100k was an outright lie. It is a good thing the head gaskets did leak otherwise we would not have found out that the timing belt had not been done and would have caused major engine damage

Ive already done one of these. Harr Motors was able to fix what Nissan of Bismarck could not. Bismark charged me $167 to top off my coolant which wasnt even low. There was something wrong in the sensor/overflow tank that was sending a code that wasnt accurate. Even though Bismarck did not accomplish anything, they still charged me $167. Bismarck will not refund me the $167 even though they did not accomplish anything. Lesson learned. I will spread the word for sure.

Bought a nice car with low miles or so I thought. Havent even had it 30 days and to my dismay the heater dont work the mileage is written down wrong everywhere and there literally was no oil in it. Not to mention Ive had to fill it over 10 times since I got it because it sucks so much gas. Its suppose to get 18 mpg in town and it doesnt even do that I finally gave up and now it sits in front of my house. Funny how I got a over 7k loan for a car thats my worst nightmare!! Will never ever in a million years by a vehicle from harrs again. Funny cause I even asked about the oil change and everything said it was recently done. A lie I guess not to mention I didnt check the heater because it was hot out.

Had a Harr Motors employee look at my private sale vehicle and try to buy it at dealership cost off of me. If I wanted to give my car away to a dealer I would have taken it to a dealership in the first place. Not even sure what he was doing is legal. But from what Ive heard Im not the first person theyve done this to. I know Ill never consider buying a car from them in the future thats for sure!

They put transmission fluid in my antifreeze. Im never going there again. They did have a lot of snacks while you wait, but the sodas were hardly below room temperature. Their coffee machine was also down. The whole waiting period was simply awful, and they messed up the oil change in the end anyway.

We purchased a vehicle for Rhonda Masters. She was great to work with. Very responsive and found a car that fit our growing familys needs.

I purchased a 2014 toyota sequoia from Harr motors as a toyota certified preowned vehicle. I am from nd so the vehicle was brought to me and they didnt run through any of the features or options on the vehicle. I found out it had visors that come up from the door panels and the were both tore. They were able to repair those, I did more research on toyotas website to see what the certified criteria meant. Well it should never have been certified as the tires needed replaced and there were more scratches and dings than allowable. I just want to warn people to do your research and know what the certified process entails before overpaying for a vehicle that was slid thru the cracks for a higher price. One year later and I was seeing what they would give me trade wise, I put 12k miles on the vehicle, and replaced the tires. They offered me 11k less than I paid. I understand Ill lose some money but I will chose to shop somewhere that takes care of their customers. I wouldnt recommend purchasing from harr

The staff,warranty and selection in one place is amazing. Harry our salesman spent 6 hours with us looking and test driving many different makes and models. Where else can you go and get lifetime warranty. I’m a chevy man but I’m loving my new Nissan rougue sv thanks to Harry. And janene “pry spelt wrong” in finances was a very wonderful lady and fun to work with!!!! I WILL definitely buy from Harr again!!!

We scheduled a service online for an engine light, when my wife got there they said they had no idea about the service order and the online service should not be an available option on the website. I don’t know how that’s our problem. I know it’s friday but if you have a job to do please do it.
