Great place to get your German vehicle serviced. The front desk is very knowledgeable and the techs are quite capable. It is a bit of a drive but its worth it for the peace of mind and care they provide.

I have had an absolutely stellar experience with this shop, they are extremely knowledgeable and take the time to make sure you understand everything being done to your vehicle. They are incredibly competitively priced, their lounge area is very clean and comfortable, you can tell this team is really passionate about what they do and it shows in their work. On 8/6/21 I took my GLI in for the license plate being out and the walnut blasting in hopes of fixing my sputtering problem thats been happening since my tune that they did on my car. A good solution wouldve been detuning and seeing if it still does it, which was not offered. The service advisor, David, was rude to say the least with less than deplorable behavior. Upon my arrival I told him what I was in for and my car goes back. One hour later he calls me up and tells me my car is throwing all these different codes for my fan not working and then says theres gonna be a diagnosis fee for the sputtering. I told him no, I told you I wanted the walnut blasting in hopes of fixing the problem, not to diagnosis anything. On top of the $799 for the walnut blasting he wanted to charge an additional $98.53 an hour plus the $98.53 an hour for the license plate light, which I told him was just the wire, plus $590 for the fans. After I told David that my car never showed any signs of over heating he tried to explain that it had been happening for 3 weeks and said he would show me. Being a former service advisor myself, I asked more questions and explained that I am going to be making a big purchase and wanted to be sure I was spending money on something that is needed now and could not wait. David became visibly irritated and said Ill just pull your car out because you already said you dont have any money and I wanna get paid and would not show me the what he was talking about and for that reason I will never trust anyone there with my baby again. It seemed as if he knew how much I love and cared for my car and tried to play with my emotions. As a former service advisor Ive always treated my customers car how I wouldve wanted my cared for and hearing doors slammed while standing at the counter, not to mention being cheated out of $98.53 for the light they did not fix because my car sat back in their shop for an hour.

Since day one of stepping into the shop, me knowing nothing about German vehicles, helped me a lot. From my mk6 now to my mk7 they helped me understand my car more and help me with upgrades that get the job done and wont break the bank.

Nice place, went with a buddy to look at some parts for his Gti, and browsed around myself for some a7 things. When my time is right, I will be going to them some custom work.

Order a part in May & they did nothing with the order for almost 2 months. When I checked the status in July, I was told they were just finalizing the order & would be a few more weeks.Due to this incompetency, I canceled the order. They still charged me a 10% restocking fee even there was nothing to restock.Horrible experience.

I was here last year to get an APR Stage 2 reflash on my GTI. Theyre service was friendly and as fast as reasonably expected. Thumbs up.

NGP is great and would recommend them to anyone with a VW or Audi vehicle for any maintenance. Recently had some Bilstein coilovers installed on my MK7.5 Golf R, previously had an alignment issue they were able to fix as well easily during the install. The car handles great and I am really happy with it. Thanks to Arno, Scott and the whole team at NGP.

UPDATE: Im a bit overdue but I came back to amend my review. The owner reached out to me several times since the below incident occurred. They went through great lengths to re-establish rapport with me to include offered discounts on oil changes. Ive since returned to have additional work performed on my vehicle to include a new clutch and APR tuning and Ive had nothing but great customer service. I do believe in second chances and look forward to doing more business with NGP in the future.I came in for a basic oil change. I was scheduled for a time slot from 2 to 3. Mind you, Im a new customer. An hour and 10 minutes goes by and I havent heard anything. I speak to the manager to inquire about a status update. He tells me its going to be another 45 minutes. I told him I dont have that kind of time. He says let me see what I can do, but he was very dismissive. Another 10 minutes goes by and he comes out to tell me I can pay now so when its done I can be ready to go. I mentioned that Im a new customer and so far this has not been a good experience. He says ok..very nonchalant. I had to coax an apology out of him. He obviously didnt see why I was bothered.I can understand people running behind but you have to COMMUNICATE that with your customers instead of just leaving them in a holding pattern. While Im sure they do good work here, their performance was overshadowed by poor customer service. I wont be back and Ill be glad to tell others not to do the same.

As someone who does most of their own vehicle repair and maintenance, Im hesitant on handing cars over to a mechanic. My experience with NGP has been great. Very knowledgeable staff with plenty of patience when I had issues with my bank on Presidents Day. I was happy to hear when my invoice came in under the estimated cost too! I dont think there is another shop I would consider to work on my audi. Thank you NGP for your hard work!

There is no pressure to do anything nor buy anything. They have a project car that they were more than happy to show in 90+° weather without a guarantee Id buy anything. The drive was 1hr and 15 min and worth every second. Ill be going back there, definitely for my next mod. I dont write detailed reviews but these guys are worth it....Went stage two today. Really liking the car. Just as before, I had a very good experience here. Its worth the drive even if its just for an oil change. Ive found a shop I trust and in the automotive industry this is invaluable. Thanks guys!Got stage two high torque and a BFI clutch. Again rapid excellent service. Gotta break in my clutch before finally enjoying the APR file. The only drawback is my wallet. Otherwise Id live here!Had the NGP 1 coilovers installed to replace lowering springs. What a huge difference! Plus the car is even. The ride feels stock again till I lean on it. Its always a good experience here.

I’ve had this shop do multiple tunes and work on several of my cars! Always perfect, no issues, excellent attention to detail. Last tune was a simple high torque stage one on my 2019 Golf R. Also did the DSG upgrade. TRANSFORMED the car. Shout out to Mike, Arno and Dave for the hands on.

Just had a major leak overhaul and many, many other things done to many to list these guys did a beautiful job best shop ever. I have a 2004 R32 GOLF 6 SPEED manual Simply the best!!!!

Good people - the place to go for routine work or performance upgrades

The East Coast Leaders (in VW/Audi care and tuning). Thats what my friend and I refer to them as, and I say that as a repeat customer. The kind of customer that does their research ahead of time and constantly price compares and researches whats involved in an upgrade.Started off by contacting them over three quarters of a year ago via email. I asked a lot of questions and what did I get? Detailed point by point answers. In what started as a series of specific questions, turned into a robust email correspondence between myself and NGP.Props to Mike who broke everything down and constantly does so when Im curious about something. When breaking things down, they go all the way to a quote when asked and if you decide to pursue, even months later, the price is still honored. I personally waited about half a year on something I had previously inquired and received a quote on.For perspective, not everything Ive inquired about with them Ive had done to my car. As mentioned by other reviews, they do not pressure you but like any vendor if they have a sale or an honest recommendation, they will be proactive in bringing it to your attention. Theres a really big reason for not having to actually hard pressure you or do what typical service centers will do and up-sale. They dont have to. They know their recommendations are rock solid and have seen time and time again the result of said recommendations. Its more like.. they are happy to recommend something they knew youre going to like... that kinda enthusiasm.As for pricing on parts, their prices are the same youre going to find elsewhere and they will even price match. I didnt need this done personally as I already did my research, but while waiting for a job to complete, they were doing this with other customers who asked to do so.As for pricing on their hourly rate, Im a firm believer in the adage you get what you pay for and it definitely applies here. NGPs hourly labor charge is not the highest Ive seen, and its certainly not bargain basement. It is above average - ie their hourly isnt cheap. What does this mean? It means these arent the guys you come to for an oil change or a simple tire rotation. Its the guys you confidently come to when you wanna drop $300-$1,200 in upgrades (or repairs to fix a problem) that you want to be extremely confident in the work youre getting done.Because thats exactly what youre getting from them. If you want to baby your car and sport it up, there is no better place to go. These fine gentlemen will keep your baby tip top!If you want to talk about honesty, heres my testimony.I brought in a used car I had purchased and had no idea what had been done to it tune wise previously. I was paying for ECU upgrade. Within 5 minutes of taking the car back and plugging it into the computer, the technician came back out where I was informed the specific tune was already on my car, but had been reset to factory settings. This literally saved me $500 as all I had to do was pay to transfer the name on the account to myself and then get the actual stage 1 tune I wanted for free.From Texas to Maine I cant count on one hand the places Ive been to previously in 30 years of owning a car that would have turned down an easy payday like that. They could have just switched the name on the account, changed the tune, and said nothing while making bank. But thats not what they did. They were upfront, direct, and honest, and continue to be since.My car is substantially more enjoyable, both performance and general quality of life improvements, from work Ive had them do vs when I originally purchased it. 60-70% were things they had recommended.Absolute amazing difference. Thank you Mike, and more recently Arno. Yes, my shifting experience definitely went from Stirring chicken soup to lock and loading a rifle. And shes super quiet now thanks to the subframe bushings. No more popping and creaking. Ahhhhhhhh quality of driving life went up substantially.5 firm stars to the NGP crew and making my car better than ever!

Nice shop with friendly and helpful staff. They have a nice selection of popular parts on hand. Customer parking is a little limited, but exists, (place seems quite busy with work, which is a good indicator.)My first experience with NGP was at Dub Deliverance 17 at Dominion raceway in VA. They had a large race trailer with 2 staffed mechanics bays and a nice little products area with event appropriate items. They were offering reasonably priced services for track support to attendees. It was the reason I made a two hour round trip to check out their facility, worth it IMHO.

The guys are all knowledgeable, communicative and provide excellent customer service at all times. The techs are super pros... and my Audi is now a high performance machine. I highly recommend for Audi and VW highest quality performance upgrades

It is tuners like this that make you stick with certain brands of cars. Ive never owned a German car prior to three years ago. NGP came HIGHLY recommended by every German car owner that I know. The staff is great, very helpful, informative, they have gained my trust almost immediately. Anybody who has been involved in the tuner scene (prior to its explosion) knows that reputable shops are extremely rare, but one you find one, you better support them!!!

The place is like heaven for German performance. The guys there are professional and knowledgeable. We drove almost two hours to have them work on one of our Volkswagen and it was definitely worth every minute!

Ordered some suspension parts for my 14 GLI. Had a problem with my card and shipping address, but Jason got a hold of me right away and got it all figured out. Shipped out the next day and received them today. A week in total for everything to go through and ship. Highly recommend them. Will no doubt order more parts from and through this company

These guys are hands down the best VW/Audi shop around. They do performance tuning and regular maintenance. I went there for a simple APR stage 1 and was in and out in no time and it was almost like getting a brand new car.

These guys are the best... I spent almost $2,000 trying to fix my VW Cabrio at the dealer and a my local mechanic, and I still had a check engine light. I could not get my car through inspection. NGP repaired my car in less than an hour, and did not even charge my for the part they took off their VW parts car. The car went right through the inspection exactly one year late... I will be going back for all any future problems with my VW... Thanks NGP....

I have had NGP do numerous things to my 06 2.5L and have only been surprised once with a bill. Overall quality of work, outstanding, and their customer service is always top notch. Very friendly, and they have upgraded their shop to be grade 10, in my book. They have also be voted one of the top Euro shops in the country over the last 5 to 6 years, TOPs on the east coast, I believe for 2011-13. Not too bad.

For a quick ECU flash it always takes several hours. Also was lied to, told to get the APR Fully Loaded Package for Stock Mode Emissions Testing, However APR never made it for my ECU and was charged anyways for a package that does not work.

The guys at NGP have been an incredible resource from before day one! I am the owner and mechanic of a mk6 GTI, 6spd manual, Tornado Red. My first nice car (upgrade from 95 Ford Escort). I work on it, love it, and I spend a lot of time working to afford it, and working on it to keep it pristine. Im incredibly selective of who gets to put their hands on my glorious machine..I have a friend who is a mechanic, and who drives a mk6 R. He had his car tuned here and per his recommendation, I decided to go to NGP to tune my car. I live two hours away (in one direction), and wanted stage 2 flashed to my car. 6 weeks before I bit the bullet and purchased the tune, I began reaching out to guys at NGP. I wanted to make sure all my ducks were in a row before taking a mini road trip up North.I told them my mechanical history, my goals, and who referred me. Before ever even meeting any of the guys here, I had spent a collective several hours via phone/email communicating with several of the techs. I felt like I had a good idea of what to expect, how long it would take, and how much it was going to cost. I installed a cat-less downpipe on my GTI and headed over. By the time I showed up for the first time, I felt like I had been a customer for years. Im aware that sounds tacky. Thats an incredibly reassuring feeling.When I walked in and introduced myself, I was greeted like I was an old friend from 30 years ago that had grown past immediate recognition. They offered me options I didnt know I could get, and, very generously, honored a promotional price that had ended A WEEK ago. Over a hundred bucks off! It took them exactly an hour, as predicted, and when my tech drove my car to me after taking it for a post-tune test drive, I could tell he was driving with discretion and respect to me and my car.Ultimately, I had a brilliantly seamless experience. Something that is rare, as far as Ive gathered in my 23 years on this earth. In addition, I left with more AND spent less than I was originally quoted.The reason for such a specific review is:I own and operate a very small local repair business, that relies on good people who care about the businesses from whom/where they get services. Being on the other end of the spectrum, this is the kind of shop I would recommend to everyone because they care about their customers, regardless of the money being (or not being) made. These guys set the bar high when it comes to customer service.TL;DR (too long; didnt read)They spent over a month and a half helping me, with no real profit and with no real assurance that it was going to be profitable for them. When time finally came around for me to actually be a customer, they exceeded any and all expectations. Thanks NGP!

Absolutely, hands-down the BEST shop in MD for anything German!!! I started with my 97 Jetta years ago there, and have had my GTI, a Passat, Tiguan, and Rabbit serviced here many times, as well as recommended family to take their cars in for service here. For some reason I always forgot to leave a review over many years of coming to the shop. I moved out of MD just over a year ago and finding a mechanic to replace NGP has been near impossible down here in FL, but even before I left they were helping. Scott gave me some information on reputable places in FL and by contacting them Ive found some decent shops locally to me. What finally made me wake up and realize I needed to leave a review was my last call to NGP. I reached out to Jason and Dave about my 2011 Tiguan and a part I was struggling to find, so Dave looks everything up for me and finds out that I need to order an entire assembly to get the small part I need. Instead of trying to up-sell me on the part, he tells me that he found the exact part I need on a parts car he has and that he will just give it to me. But it wasnt even that easy...I live in FL now and he offered to ship it to me even with me not planning on ordering any parts. To me, that is just how this shop is ran and how it has been each and every time I was there.To Dave, Jason, Mike, Scott, and the rest of the crew at NGP: youre literally the one thing I miss about being in MD as Im not sure I will ever find a shop as honest as you guys.
